Every Memoridal Day we meet at the Town Center Park in Kingwood to honor those who gave it all for our freedoms by completing/competing in one of two Hero Races: MURPH / LOREDO, or a Half-Marathon / 5K/10k … 10 and Under fun: Kids Mini-Salute (short mini hero race).

A sweet treat in the summer heat!

Join us on Saturday, August 8th, 2026 for the 7th annual Watermelon Dash. This sweet race is the 3rd in a three-race series, all designed to keep you fit and refreshed this summer.

The Summer Dash Series includes the Lemonade Dash, Popsicle Dash, and Watermelon Dash. All are great family events!

Started in 1978, this race began to benefit the Brenham High School Athletic program and did so for many years. Today, the run serves a broader community by fostering the physical health of and instilling good character in the youth of Washington County.

Run for the Youth of Washington County sponsors events like the Blue Bell Fun Run, and conducts and provides charitable and other non-profit programs and activities in Washington County. Brenham High School athletes serve as volunteers for the race

The 2nd Annual Operation Ruck the Bayou will be hosted on Saturday, May 16th, 2026 at Saint Arnold Brewery in Houston, TX. This event will support The Joshua Chamberlain Society’s Houston Chapter.

The kid’s dash is a fun, untimed dash for our kiddos ages 10 and under. Registration includes a mini bib, youth-sized shirt, and a specifically crafted medal for our kids’ dash event! (If your child wants to run the kid’s dash, and doesn’t want the SWAG, they are welcome to run with us on race day for free!)

The IRONKIDS Fun Run offers young athletes the opportunity to feel the excitement of competition, while enjoying the outdoors and promoting healthy living. Each athlete receives a “Goodie Bag” with a race bib, shirt and a finisher medal.

This is the 57th running of the oldest race in Texas. You can boast on Sunday morning that you ran on the same track as Olympic Medalists Clayton Murphy and Matt Centrowitz and that you finished at the same time as Houston’s premier runners. Run as many RPMs (laps) as you please in 33:20. Pre-LP lbs. weigh-in for Clydesdales and Rubens. The racecourse is around a beautiful 400 meter bouncy synthetic track – no asphalt or concrete or potholes! Run at Rice University. By arriving early or staying late, the rare opportunity exists to actually watch some of Houston’s best runners.

Welcome to the ultimate test of endurance and spirit, The Summer Meltdown Half Marathon! Set against the picturesque backdrop of Texas’ stunning parks, this exhilarating race kicks off at 7am, offering a fresh start to your summer day. As the golden sun rises, casting a warm glow over the landscape, you’ll embark on a journey through some of the most beautiful and serene natural settings Texas has to offer.

The race route winds through lush, shaded trails, alongside sparkling rivers, and across rolling hills, providing both a challenge and a feast for the eyes. Despite the early start, the notorious Texas heat will make its presence felt, adding an extra layer of intensity to your run. But fear not, for the course is dotted with well-stocked aid stations, ensuring you stay hydrated and energized as you push your limits.

Join us for Year 9 of this fast and scenic half marathon course with the best post-race food and fun anywhere . If you’re not quite ready to tackle the half, we have 2-person relay teams and a 5k, as well as a 1k Kids race for the little ones. Can’t make it out, but want all the swag mailed to you? There is a virtual option!

Texas’ Hottest trail race, the Habanero Hundred was born from a summer long-run gone wrong (ask Race Director Cal) and is now one of the largest trail races in the state, held in August every year with options for many distances and the marquee event being the 100-mile distance.

The relay option will also allow you to run with a team, friends, or family to complete this monumental task. In the first year of the event, we only had ONE finisher in the 100 Mile event, Julie Schmal! Ever since we have put our 100mi finishers’ names printed on the back of the next year’s shirt. Between 2015 and 2024 there have only been 162 finishes of the Habanero Hundred 100mi.

Are you up for the challenge? Maybe start with one of our shorter solo distances or join a team in the highly competitive relay events for either the 100km or 100mi distance relays.
