We wanted to have an event that brought the community together, told Graeme’s story, celebrated other heart babies, and raised money to support heart families by funding life-saving congenital heart defect research.

Started in 1978, this race began to benefit the Brenham High School Athletic program and did so for many years. Today, the run serves a broader community by fostering the physical health of and instilling good character in the youth of Washington County.

Run for the Youth of Washington County sponsors events like the Blue Bell Fun Run, and conducts and provides charitable and other non-profit programs and activities in Washington County. Brenham High School athletes serve as volunteers for the race

The Yuri’s Fun Run Houston is part of an annual worldwide celebration that commemorates the first human in space, Yuri Gagarin, as well as the first orbital flight of the US Space Shuttle. Both these pioneering events took place on April 12th – in 1961 and 1981 respectively. As such, our race is always run on, or close to, the 12th April, and is often held in conjunction with a Family Space Day celebration with interactive booths, displays and simple water rocket demonstrations. Yuri’s Night celebrations around the world fuel public interest in space exploration, technology, and the aerospace industry.

Strut your stuff in a fabulous PINK TUTU, paired with your DIVA RACE SHIRT. As you race, grab a TIARA and BOA along the course to complete your glamorous look. Cross the finish line and earn your well-deserved FINISHER MEDAL, celebrating your strength and style. It’s the ultimate blend of fun, fitness, and fabulousness because every diva deserves to shine!

The IRONKIDS Fun Run offers young athletes the opportunity to feel the excitement of competition, while enjoying the outdoors and promoting healthy living. Each athlete receives a “Goodie Bag” with a race bib, shirt and a finisher medal.

Join us for Year 9 of this fast and scenic half marathon course with the best post-race food and fun anywhere . If you’re not quite ready to tackle the half, we have 2-person relay teams and a 5k, as well as a 1k Kids race for the little ones. Can’t make it out, but want all the swag mailed to you? There is a virtual option!

Space City Gym 5K / 10K Run at Jesse Jones Park — April 18th
Get ready to lace up and join Space City Gym for our annual 5K / 10K Race at the beautiful Jesse Jones Park on Saturday, April 18th! 🌳🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Experience a scenic course that winds through lush trails and open pathways, perfect for runners of all levels—from first-time 5K participants to seasoned 10K competitors. Whether you’re racing for a new personal best or enjoying a fun, active morning with friends and family, this event is the perfect way to celebrate fitness and community.

The race supports brain cancer research and pediatric initiatives, recognizes brain tumor survivors, and remembers loved ones lost to this devastating disease.

Race-day activities include a 5K Run, 5K Walk, Family 1K, Survivor Stroll for brain tumor patients, and a lively post-race party for all participants. 5K Run participants are eligible to win awards, given to overall top male and female participants, and those who finish first in age-specific categories. Children receive medals. This is a certified race.

The Space City Half debuts on Sunday, April 19, 2026, bringing the same fast, scenic course and smooth logistics as the Houston Turkey Dash to a new spring event. Featuring a half marathon, 10K, 5K, and mile run, it’s the finale of the Lone Star Race Series, following the Sugar Land and Texas City Halfs. Join us for a fun, flat race through Houston’s westside inner-loop and celebrate the close of an epic Texas race season.

Get ready to lace up your neon high-tops, tease up that hair, and break out your best 80’s threads for Running Through the Decades – The 1980s Edition!
This totally tubular event will take you on a nostalgic run through the raddest decade ever — complete with a pre-race costume contest, 80’s music pumping all morning, and retro vibes everywhere. From headbands and leg warmers to mullets and Walkmans, it’s time to show off your inner Madonna or Maverick before you hit the course!

Rylen, who was always smiling, quickly earned the name Smilin’ Rylen.

Rylen earned his angel wings on June 5, 2017, at only 13.5 months old, after a battle with Bacterial Meningitis. Little but Mighty, Rylen did not leave this earth untouched. Thanks to the medical advances in organ donation, Rylen was able to save 5 lives.

We remember Rylen with everything ORANGE, a color of happiness!

Our Mission at The Smilin’ Rylen Foundation is to raise awareness about organ donation and to assist families in crisis.
