Join us for Year 9 of this fast and scenic half marathon course with the best post-race food and fun anywhere . Galveston Island is a seafood lover’s paradise all year round, but this September, Yaga’s Entertainment will bring foodies a little taste of heaven at the Galveston Island Shrimp Festival.

Featuring some of the best shrimp gumbo the Gulf Coast has to offer, the cook-off will be held in the Historic Strand District beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

This event will also feature the Shrimp Scamper 5k Fun Run, Ron Hoover Boat Show, vendor exhibits, and live music! Click here to view the full festival schedule.

First launched in April 2010, the Sisters Network Inc. Stop the Silence National African American Breast Cancer 5K Walk/Run is the first and only national breast cancer walk hosted by a black-led organization for black women. The walk is hosted in April to draw attention to National Minority Health Awareness month.

Over the last 15 years, more than 4,000 participants from around the United States travel to Houston, Texas annually to honor and celebrate black women diagnosed with breast cancer. A portion of the funds raised from the Stop the Silence walk benefits Sisters Network Inc. Karen E. Jackson Breast Cancer Assistance Program (BCAP). The national program pays for 3D mammograms for uninsured women and provides financial assistance to breast cancer survivors who are currently in treatment.

This year’s race will be in-person or virtual run/walk consisting of a 5K / 10K on Saturday, September 19th in scenic downtown Conroe, TX.  The registration fee will include a custom t-shirt commemorating the event, which will be available during packet pickup at Fleet Feet located at 1925 Hughes Landing Blvd Ste 900 in The Woodlands, TX 77380 on September 17th from 10 am to 5 pm; at the Woodforest National Bank located at 400 West Davis on Friday September 18th from 9 am to 5:00 pm; and race day morning from 6 am to 7:45 am.  As always, net proceeds will benefit the Woodforest Charitable Foundation®.  To learn more about this event or the Woodforest Charitable Foundation, please visit our website at: https://www.woodforest.com/woodforest-cares/community-support/woodforest-bank-charity-run/

Join us for a 3K walk or 5K run as we work to forward our mission to provide long-term care for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our human trafficking survivors.

The race supports brain cancer research and pediatric initiatives, recognizes brain tumor survivors, and remembers loved ones lost to this devastating disease.

Race-day activities include a 5K Run, 5K Walk, Family 1K, Survivor Stroll for brain tumor patients, and a lively post-race party for all participants. 5K Run participants are eligible to win awards, given to overall top male and female participants, and those who finish first in age-specific categories. Children receive medals. This is a certified race.

With a 1K kids run, 5K, and 10K, there’s something for everyone. Bring the family, gather your walking group, or race to win a monkey.

Come ready for more than just the run, race day features live music, on-course entertainment, raffle prizes, finisher medals, popsicles for the kids run, and health and wellness vendor booths.

BISD is excited for our 4th Annual BISD Family 5K Run/Walk & Kids 1K Fun Run benefiting the health and wellness of our BISD teachers and staff!  Please join us for our Fun Run fundraiser featuring a chip timed 5K and Kids Fun Run.

The BISD Family 5k FUN run is a timed event, however it is an event for everyone of every ability. It’s your event to enjoy as you wish! So don’t worry about finishing times (unless you want to) – just come along to enjoy the day!

Date/Time: Saturday September 27th. Kids run 7:30 am, 5K at conclusion of the Kids Run

All runners will receive the official 2025 participant race shirt and finishers medal. *Must register by Monday, September 9th to guarantee your shirt.

Mark your calendar and register for the Art Car IPA 5K presented by the University of Houston Downtown on Sunday April 12, 2026, at Texas’ oldest craft brewery — Saint Arnold Brewing Company. Get funky, get creative and show us your artistic talent as we party and revel in the art of running and drinking the best in Texas craft beer!

Start and finish at Galveston’s R.A. Apffel East Beach Park. Run entirely on sand, the Sand Crab is an adventure under the stars on a beautiful Galveston Beach at night! All races are chip timed including the Kid’s K. The Sand Crab starts on beautiful East Beach and runs west for 3.1 or 1.55 miles (depending on the event), then turns back to the finish. The course is marked with led lights. Runners are required to run with a flashlight or head lamp. The Kid’s K will start at 8 pm. Parents are welcome to run with kids free of charge. The 5K/10K will start at 8:30PM. The 5K run is very walker friendly with a 2hr cut off. The 10K is walkable but will share the 2 hr cut off. 10K runners must be at the 3.1 mile turnaround within 1 hour. There are 2 waterstops with sports drink and water hit 2X ea for the 10K and 1 hit 2X for the 5K.
